Somernites Cruise
Somernites Cruise is a popular car event that takes place in Somerset, Kentucky, about 15 miles north of the cabin (about 25 minute drive). It's one of the largest monthly car shows in the United States.
Typically held on the fourth Saturday of each month from 12-6 PM April through October, Somernites Cruise attracts families and car collectors from all over the region. We try to go at least a few times a year, because we’re classic car enthusiasts ourselves. We know from experience–our large barn is a great place to keep your classic car (or cars) pristine ahead of the Show and Shine, the portion of the event where participants showcase their classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars, trucks, and motorcycles.
What’s at a Show?
During these weekends, you’ll find a diverse range of vehicles, from classic cars and muscle cars to street rods and trucks. The sight of meticulously restored vintage vehicles along the streets of downtown Somerset is a vibrant and exciting atmosphere. Awards are given out for categories such as Best in Show, People's Choice, and Longest Distance Traveled.
Somernites Cruise typically features a different theme or focus for each month's event, such as specific car makes or models, decades, or special occasions. Every month they have new and different special features, like meet and greets, celebrity appearances and Friday Night Thunder. Find all the details for the month of your choice at the official event schedule.
Who Enjoys Somernites Cruise?
It's a great opportunity for car enthusiasts to connect with fellow collectors, show off their prized vehicles, and enjoy a day filled with automotive nostalgia. There’s even a swap meet for used auto parts.
A wide variety of food vendors serving up delicious treats ensures there's something for the whole family to enjoy. Live music and entertainment, whether it’s a local band playing classic tunes or street performers showcasing their talents, also add to the festive atmosphere.
In addition to the car displays, Somernites Cruise is a family event that hosts activities for people of all ages. Kids can enjoy face painting, join in a costume contest, do a car-themed craft or bounce the day away in one of the inflatable bounce houses.
